Hope the Testing is Going Well!

Hey guys,

There hasn't been much news lately to post up, as bins 174 and 175 are working fine for the majority of Coolsats consumers:D. Just wondering if anyone has had any problems, comments or any other questions they would like to direct my way about anything.

Either you can leave a comment on this blog, or you can E-Mail me at ftatester11@gmail.com

Hope everyone is enjoying the new and improved website layout and forum setup at our new site!

Thanks everyone!

Stay tuned for coolsat info here.

Coolsat Support Update

It looks as if support for Coolsat4k/5k/6k has been continuing lately, as the newest 175 bin for the latest ecm came out. However, we will still be making our vote tonight, but the announcement will be delayed until the current update goes down, and if there are no new updates for 1 week, we will announce it. Otherwise if support continues, there is no reason or purpose for my team and I to get into supporting this line of receivers. Either way, it looks like it will be a WIN-WIN situation for the coolsat consumers!!!!!

So stayed tuned for updates, but until then....

Enjoy TV everyone:)

Cheers

Coolsat Support D-DAY on Friday!!!!

As I had previously stated in my last blog post, I said my team and I would be very interested in picking up support for this line of coolsat that has recently been discontinued for support. We have made contact with a couple of veteran coders that are very familiar with the coolsat coding framework, and they have expressed their interest in joining on with the team. Before you guys get ahead of yourselves, the decision is NOT final yet. Tomorrow afternoon/evening, we will have a team vote deciding on if we can or cannot FULLY support this line of receivers. If we do pick up support, I'm not entirely sure what the Coolsat team will have to say about that, as they are discontinuing them solely to increase sales for their newer, upgraded receivers. Frankly, we do not give a flying F*ck; no disrespect to coolsat, I can understand what they are trying to do. Sales are down, and they need money.

If the coolsat support line is picked up by my team and I, we will make it very publicized so amateur coders can begin learning about it and be able to join the team and help us, as to relief pressure off of us;  like I said.. we do not get paid for this in any way, and we cannot always afford to be able to 100% support.

If the coolsat support line is NOT picked up by my team and I, I solely regret it as the customers of coolsat have been great putting up with this denial of service. Hopefully this will NOT be the case, but I am sorry if that's what it will have to be..

Please stay tuned on this blog for the next 1-2 days, as a final announcement WILL be made Saturday morning!!

I will announce the decision on this blog, even though the main website will be going back on Saturday evening; I know you guys wouldn't want to wait till then when a decision has been made lol.

Thanks for listening, lets hope for the best of luck from the team!

Confirmation to the NORW Rumors

It appears as if the rumors to NORW being finished with coolsat4k/5k/6k are indeed TRUE. The K-BOX team is a line of coders that was originally with NORW, but had left to form their own 'crew' that wanted to form their own, new brand. There is no other similarity between Coolsat and K-BOX; they only share a development site, and that is about IT. However, as happy as one may be thinking that K-BOX has settled down to support coolsat, it is NOT THE CASE! It was only a one time favour, and that is about it; it also looks like NORW is completely finished with supporting coolsat4k/5k/6k. Hopefully another willing group will want to take their time and pick up support for this.
Many people that I know have been wanting my team to pick up support for it. As you all know I would love nothing more than to make the people of coolsat happy and perky once again as coolsat4k/5k/6k is an EXCELLENT line of FTA receivers. However, time permitting, it is very hard to get into the mode of switching over to this line. With my 2nd child being born, I don't know how much time my team and I will have to be able to put our free time into doing this. Family, Work, Life is starting to take a toll and I will calculate how much time I will have in the near future, to see if it is worth picking up support for this beautiful line of receivers. I do not want to pick up support, and then have to drop it soon after. This would be misleading the Coolsat faithful, and I think that is the last thing my team and I would like to do.

Stay tuned to this blog for more coolsat information, and my take on picking up support for this coolsat line, as my main site is down at the moment (maintenance for about a weeks time as we are upgrading our boxes).

Cheers fellas!

As of May 19th, 2008., Norw still hasn't released a new fix. We are continually waiting upon it's release. Please everyone be patient. FTA is only meant to be a mere backup to your regular TV system. Don't abuse it.
